🌞 Australia’s Sunshine Coast continues to shine as a powerhouse region. In fact, a key story in this edition focuses on a multimillion-dollar investment in expanding the region’s power grid.
And the power theme doesn’t stop there, with Sunshine Coast Council being internationally recognised for its work in sharing the region’s business investment story.
🏆 For the second year running, Council’s Invest Sunshine Coast team has received multiple Gold awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in the US.
Council won three Gold awards, two of which were for the 'Testing Tech in Paradise' initiative, promoting the region as a prime location for technology-related investment.
Another Gold was awarded for an initiative that played a critical role during COVID-19 by keeping capital projects moving and employed. This cross-council project delivered $411.8 million in commercial capital expenditure and 1271 new jobs into the local economy.
These accolades highlight the Sunshine Coast’s strong business appeal to a broad commercial audience, including those who sought further information from Council’s investment team or joined innovative initiatives like the city tech tours.
In other news, the Maroochydore City Centre continues to grow, with a new private hospital and commercial building currently under construction and Walker Corporation in the approval phase for a new mixed-use development.
And .... before I sign off ... Hot off the press! Sunshine Coast Council is hosting its second Testing Tech in Paradise event on Wednesday evening, 4 December 2024.
The theme is "Geospatial Technology in Business". Attendees will hear how geospatial technology is being used in almost every business sector and how it might help you in your business. Stay tuned, we will email you a full event rundown soon.
