For the third year running, the Sunshine Coast has been listed in the Top7 Intelligent Communities of the Year. The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), recognises communities around the world for using “smart” technologies to achieve high-level “economic and social transformation”.

A range of largely “behind the scenes” initiatives undertaken by Sunshine Coast Council have helped boost economic activity and improved the livelihoods of residents.

Some 2022 initiatives include the launch of the Sunshine Coast TECH Industry Alliance and the NEXTDC SC1 Data Centre, fostering higher income jobs and a wider range of enduring, high-value employment opportunities, particularly in IT.
