Partners are being sought for a $24 million Australian-first health and innovation hub underway on the Sunshine Coast.
Vitality Village is an integrated community health space located in a 17 hectare health, medical and mixed use precinct adjacent to the new $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The highly anticipated five storey space will integrate services, research, education and innovation in community health and wellbeing.
Billed as “a dynamic Sunshine Coast community for leaders and innovators”, Vitality Village is promoting an interdisciplinary approach to community health and wellness, to create a vibrant, innovative collective of service providers.
Vitality Village will have 4700m2 in floor area including designated office spaces, drop-in services, open space for presentations and events, community gardens and a café.
The development, being built by McNab constructions, is approved for office and medical uses and is strategically positioned in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Health Precinct at Birtinya.
It will apply a collaborative approach to tackling some of the nation’s major health challenges including isolation, loneliness and mental health by employing a unique “Innovation Engine” concept.
The Innovation Engine inspires and equips tenants, partners, entrepreneurs, researchers and creatives to collaborate on ground-breaking products and services that enhance Australia’s reputation as a leader in health and wellness development. Innovators will be actively supported to contribute skills and knowledge to solve global problems locally.
Leading health and innovation experts are flocking to the hub, with 70% of space already snapped up.
Vitality Village will offer an array of services including aged care, health care, allied health, disability and specialist support services, leadership, training and technology.
Partnership and leasing opportunities are available for businesses and organisations that are passionate about working together to improve care, exchange ideas and expertise or undertake research. Suitable organisations may be community service providers, industry leaders, innovators, not-for-profits or private sector businesses.
‘Villagers’ will benefit from inspirational modern spaces designed to support collaboration and healthy working. Value add facilities include meeting rooms, event spaces, an inviting lobby and kiosk, a professional recording studio, auditorium, multi-faith room, community kitchen and onsite amphitheatre.
