When Stephanie Moroz was tempted into the CEO role at Nano-Nouvelle, her only concern was the regional location. After just one day on the Sunshine Coast, she realised there was nowhere better in the world to live and work.
According to Stephanie Moroz, the Sunshine Coast is not the usual kind of location for a battery technology company. Yet the company was formed and has thrived on the Coast for five years.
“Our industry is purely knowledge-based and battery experts are in high demand globally,” says Stephanie.
“At Nano-Nouvelle, we are able to attract and retain an internationally competitive team. Our scientists and engineers are dedicated both to the region where they live and work and to their roles in battery innovation.

“We travel overseas regularly to meet with partners and collaborators in Korea, Japan, China, USA and Europe. Getting to the Brisbane International airport is easy and getting home is as rewarding as it gets!”
Stephanie has worked globally in energy technology and innovation. She was named one of Australia's 2016 Most Innovative Engineers and Nano-Nouvelle was listed as one of Australia’s 2016 Top 50 Tech Pioneers.
Stephanie has received a swag of other awards and recognition in the past four years alone, including second place out of 230 entries in the nation-wide Australian Technologies Competition.
Why live anywhere else?
Stephanie has lived, and could live, anywhere in the world. Yet, she says, the Sunshine Coast offers such an optimal balance of the world’s best locations, that she’s not planning to move anytime soon.
